Battle of Moscow Map

The Battle of Moscow was Soviet Russia's defense of thier capitol against the German forces in 1941. This battle was a mojor turning point in the war. If this battle was a boxing fight it would have been the Heavy Weight World Championship: Stalin's Red Army Vs. Hitler's German Forces. Hitler quoted: "If I could capture Moscow, the spirit of the Red Army War machine would be captured." Unfortunately for Hitler, with the cobination of fierce and strategically well- executed Russian defense, not to mention temperatures down to -22 Degrees, Stalin's Red Army held the determined German forces off. One interesting fact about this battle is there were only 20 days of fighting, but up to 2,000,000 total casualties. That's 2,000,000 casualties / 20 days of fighting = 100,000 casualties a day on average!!!!
